Advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants are trained in a variety of skills. But Florida law prohibits them from using some of these skills without the supervision of a physician.
Scope of practice legislation would allow APRNs and PAs to deliver health care without supervision, after they’ve completed 2,000 hours of clinical work under supervision.
When APRNs and PAs are allowed to perform their duties on their own, and their scope of practice is broadened, physicians can spend more time with more patients.
Send lawmakers a message today, urging them to support scope of practice legislation!
