Public investment in sports never hits a home run. Just ask New Jersey or Connecticut residents who paid millions for baseball stadiums that stand vacant.
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently voted to approve a letter of intent to build a baseball stadium for the minor-league Potomac Nationals baseball team.
The new stadium sounds exciting, but there’s a catch: politicians and teams expect YOU to finance it! This new stadium could cost upwards of $35 million.
Unless the team pays for their own stadium, this is another strikeout for taxpayers.
As a Prince William County Supervisor, Marty Nohe has the opportunity to look out for the taxpayer and oppose this bad deal.
Email Supervisor Nohe and tell him to stand up for the taxpayer and oppose stadium welfare!
