Floridians love their baseball. However, fans shouldn’t have to pay twice to support their favorite teams.
Clearwater and Pinellas County are considering more than $50 million in taxpayer funds to make improvements to baseball stadiums and sports complexes.
Proponents say these projects will help boost our local economy. In reality, these taxpayer-funded projects are a waste, don’t create the economic growth promised and hurt taxpayers who are trying to make ends meet.
Baseball teams should be paying for their own stadiums, plain and simple.
Contact your local officials today and let them know government shouldn’t play games with taxpayer dollars. Tell them to stand up for their constituents and say no to incentives for professional sports teams.
