Jersey City is considering implementing a payroll tax, which will be a deterrent for companies and good jobs coming to our city.
Increasing taxes has a real effect on the economy, especially on top of other burdensome mandates. Mom-and-Pop businesses, start-ups, and companies of all sizes would be affected. A vote is expected as soon as Tuesday, November 20th.
Instead of looking to raise taxes, Jersey City elected officials should look to manage the budget, just like Jersey City families manage budgets within their means.
