Currently, there is no supermajority requirement for a single-payer style health care system.
But a fundamental shift toward a single-payer health care system in Florida would bring a top-down, government-controlled approach to how people interact with their doctors.
SJR 340/HJR 547 would create a process that lets the duly elected officials of the state provide their wisdom and experience in creating a system that would overhaul one of the most important sectors of the state.
This would establish a system of appropriate checks and balances to ensure such a policy meets the appropriate level of scrutiny from those elected to provide for the safety and wellbeing of the people.
Urge your legislator to support SJR 340/HJR 547 and help reform our health care system!
