Tell Chairman Oelslager to hold hearings for Ohio House Bill 498

The prohibition of cannabis has been a failure. Collateral consequences associated with prohibition have resulted in massive damage to Ohio communities, families, our economy, and public trust in our justice system.

Ohio continues to fall behind as neighbors and other states around the nation continue to legalize adult use cannabis. This is true despite a majority of Ohioans favoring its full legalization.

Over a million Buckeyes use cannabis or cannabis products. The vast majority of these individuals are otherwise law-abiding, productive members of your local communities. These are our friends, neighbors, and family members.

As a state, we must acknowledge the wrong being committed by ostracizing cannabis users. That’s why I’m writing to ask you to immediately schedule hearings for House Bill 498 and move us towards a bolder, better Buckeye state!

This bill is a commonsense step to roll-back the prohibition on adult-use of cannabis and cannabis products. Please support House Bill 498!
