In North Carolina, regulations have been lifted on telemedicine, our state’s Certificate of Need (CON) laws, and licensing for health professionals from other states.
Gov. Cooper’s decision also allows all medical providers to perform health care services using telemedicine. Now, vulnerable patients are better able to access care remotely, reducing potential exposure to COVID-19.
Gov. Cooper’s decision to expand telemedicine services will reduce the burden on North Carolina’s health system and improve access to health care and increase social distancing. His decision to allow health care professionals from other states to obtain a license in North Carolina will also greatly impact the amount of care our residents will receive.
Through executive action, our state's CON laws have been lifted, and hospitals will be allowed to add more beds and expand their ability to provide care to more residents.
Thank Gov. Cooper for this critical move during the COVID-19 health crisis and encourage him to continue to back measures that give North Carolinians greater health care access and more options
