Under an emergency order from Governor Christopher Sununu, all health insurance carriers regulated by the New Hampshire Insurance Department — in addition to New Hampshire Medicaid coverage — are required to reimburse health care providers for telemedicine services to combat COVID-19.
Gov. Sununu’s decision also allows all medical providers to perform health care services using telemedicine. Now, vulnerable patients are better able to access care remotely, reducing potential exposure to COVID-19.
Gov. Sununu’s decision to expand telemedicine services and allow out-of-state providers to provide care in-state will reduce the burden on New Hampshire’s health system, improve access to health care and increase social distancing.
Thank Gov. Sununu for this critical move during the COVID-19 health crisis and encourage him to continue to back measures that give Granite Staters greater health care access and more options.
