We can safely get Tennesseans back to work and protect public health
I know you have a lot of tough decisions to make to address the current health and economic crisis. I’m writing today to thank you for protecting Tennesseans’ health while enabling us to get back to work.
We commend you for rejecting the false choice between “business as usual” and “we must close all business.” We can protect both public health and help get people back to work safely.
Blanket shutdowns do not address specific needs at the community level. Nashville doesn’t need to be operating like Townsend or other small towns. Our communities have different needs and should be able to respond accordingly.
As you work to safely reopen our economy and protect public health, we encourage you to work with communities and entrepreneurs to implement bottom up solutions for this unprecedented crisis that will help us get through these uncertain times, positioning our state to thrive after we’ve weathered this pandemic.
