We are calling on the Tennessee General Assembly to hold a special session to expand educational freedom and modernize the public education funding system with backpack funding.
Calls for overburdensome mandates of all types have trickled down into our school systems. This is yet another reason why we urge communities to transform education away from the current top-down standardized model to a bottom-up system that enables every family and student to customize education that best matches their values and priorities.
Tell the legislature that parents need options. Students and families should be trusted to make decisions about their education. They should have agency over what, where, and how they learn. All families should be empowered with the funding to pursue the best education for their child.
