Currently, Louisianans are paying a “temporary” sales tax that is set to expire in 2025.
However, recently introduced legislation, House Bill (HB) 693, would push the expiration date back to 2031.
The “temporary” sales tax was enacted in 2016, meaning that should HB 693 pass, it will have been a “temporary” tax for 15 years.
Louisianans can’t afford to keep paying these taxes. It’s time for our legislators to stand up for taxpayers and to end the “temporary” sales tax.
Urge your lawmakers to protect taxpayers and oppose HB 693!
