Over the past few years, Michigan received billions in federal Covid relief, and sent much of that money to our schools to help them adapt. Regardless, school closures and virtual learning disrupted education for students across the state.
Some kids are still so far behind that our hard working teachers are struggling to help them catch up. These students need additional help, but not every family can afford a tutor or summer classes.
HB 5859 would make every Michigan student eligible for up to $1500 in tutoring help, and give priority to students who are struggling the most.
Our teachers can't do it all. It's time to empower students to get the help they need to reach their full potential. Urge your lawmaker to vote yes on HB 5859!
