Medicaid expansion could put Kansas families on the hook for more than $1 billion. Other states have learned the hard way that expanding Medicaid can lead to hundreds of millions of dollars in unexpected costs, taking resources away from other essential services like roads, schools and public safety.
Flooding Medicaid with 100,000 new enrollees will make it even harder for those who really need the program to access health care. Medicaid is already overloaded. Expanding it could take the program to the breaking point.
Kansans need health care reform that lowers costs and ensures better care for everyone. Medicaid expansion under Obamacare does neither.
Unless we speak up, Kansas could be in big trouble. Fill out the information on the right to tell your state representatives to oppose this bad plan. Tell them to vote NO on Medicaid expansion.
