COVID-19 has put Montanans under a lot of pressure, and we need to work together if we’re going to get through this pandemic. That’s why it’s disappointing that leaders in Helena would launch a website with the sole purpose of encouraging neighbors to report on each other.
These actions by our representatives will undermine trust within our communities and encourage criminalization, which is counterproductive to both thriving communities and slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Filing government lawsuits and asking neighbors to report on each other will only divide us when we should be working together to solve problems. Instead of launching informant websites and spending scarce resources on lawsuits, our representatives should work with local leaders and business owners to safely reopen and get Montanans back to work.
Join us in working toward solutions that will enable us through this pandemic and back to work safely.
