Did you know that police can seize your property without ever charging or convicting you of a crime?
It’s called civil asset forfeiture, and it allows law enforcement to seize personal belongings from a suspect of a crime.
Even if the law never finds the owners guilty, the law enables police departments to keep property taken during an investigation – and pocket the proceeds.
It’s time to reform this policy and ensure that our liberties, private property and civil rights are protected.
Send an email to Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin to ask him bring up the reform bill, A3442, for a vote!
