In the November election, Illinois voters resoundingly rejected politicians’ graduated income tax proposal. But that hasn’t stopped politicians from proposing income tax hikes on all the people of Illinois.

The state of Illinois has repeatedly increased major taxes over the past decade. The Speaker Mike Madigan-led legislature raised income taxes in 2011 and 2017, before Gov. Pritzker signed into law $4.6 billion in taxes and fees in 2019 including; a doubling of the gasoline tax, a 50% vehicle registration fee increase, internet sales tax hike, and many others.
Our state economy is suffering under years of bad policy decisions by politicians and from the fallout of COVID-19. Now is the worst time to try to raise taxes on the people of Illinois.
