Please Support This Bill
Florida is a right-to-work state, valuing voluntary association for employees. Quite simply, employees deserve the right to end association with groups who they feel no longer represent their best interests. But unfortunately, there exists the possibility of a union bargaining on behalf of or garnishing the wages of employees who do not wish to be a part of the union without their explicit knowledge or consent. Recently introduced legislation, Senate Bill (SB) 1458, resolves the problem. This bill would help enforce that by requiring unions to end membership through a signed request without the need to explain why.
