Some in Congress want to raise the federal gas tax.
Such a gas tax increase would add an additional cost of $285 annually for American families, and would cost drivers $30 BILLION by 2022.
Proponents say this tax increase will help pay for infrastructure projects, but instead of asking Americans like you to pay more at the pump than they already do, Congress should work to spend current infrastructure money more wisely, and cut unnecessary red tape. Currently, your gas tax dollars are wasted on projects they aren’t intended to fund, like bicycle paths, walking trails and squirrel sanctuaries.
Sign this letter to tell lawmakers we can fund our nation’s roads, bridges and highways without raising taxes.
