Don't Undo Historic Tax Reform
You shouldn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars more at the pump because the federal government cannot get its spending under control.
The gas tax started in 1932 as a temporary, one-cent-per-gallon tax, meant to offset the deficit during the Great Depression. Since that time, it has grown to 18.4-cents-per-gallon. Now, some are suggesting that Congress raise it by an additional 25 cents, which would be the largest hike in the gas tax’s history. Sign this letter to tell your lawmakers it is unacceptable to raise the gas tax.
