Tell Congress: Say "No" to Drug Rationing!

I urge you to oppose all efforts to have government set prices for prescription drugs, which experts say would reduce the number of new drugs coming to market by to 342 over the next two decades. That is almost half the number of new drugs approved by the FDA (671) in the previous two decades! We cannot afford to risk losing out on so many new cures with a government takeover.

Prescription drugs are critical to keeping health care costs down because they keep people from having to go to doctors or the hospital. Reducing the number of new drugs with price controls means more unnecessary hospital visits in the future, which means higher health care costs for all of us.

The government has  has repeatedly fumbled important health care issues.. Despite $83 billion in funding for COVID-19 testing, the government failed to give Americans access to affordable rapid tests on demand. If the government controls our medications, how long before we’re waiting in lines for drugs like we are with COVID tests?

Furthermore, Washington misspent more than 1 out of every 5 Medicaid dollars over the last two years– $143 billion! We cannot trust the same government officials who lost $143 billion of our tax dollars to save us money on our prescription drugs.

And, of course, there’s Obamacare. Since the law took effect, average health insurance premiums have gone up 130%!

A government takeover of our medicine cabinets is a prescription for disaster. Instead of price controls, please pass a personal option for health care. A personal option would ensure that people have fast access to the drugs they need at prices they can afford.
