Union workers should have a choice on who represents them. But many unions were voted in decades ago, long before most workers were hired.
HB 1413 would give public employees the power to decide on their union by implementing automatic union recertification elections. If the bill becomes law, workers will be able to regularly vote on whether they want to continue being represented by their current union.
Recertification ensures public employee unions are putting their members’ interests first. If workers aren’t happy with their representation, they can choose to get rid of their union or even replace it with a new one.
Tell your lawmakers it’s time to pass HB 1413 and empower workers.
