Advanced practice registered nurses (ARPNs) are trained in a variety of skills. But Florida law prohibited them from using some of these skills without the supervision of a physician.
Scope of practice legislation allows APRNs to deliver health care without supervision, after they’ve completed 2,000 hours of clinical work under supervision. When APRNs are allowed to perform their duties on their own, and their scope of practice is broadened, physicians can spend more time with more patients.
Send Governor DeSantis, Speaker Oliva, and Senate President Galvano a message today, thanking them for championing scope of practice legislation!
