Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 21 into law, repealing certificate-of-need laws in Florida, making us the first southern state to do so.
CON laws require health care providers to obtain government permission slips to build new facilities and offer new services. Not only is it time-consuming and expensive to obtain permission, but CON laws allow existing providers to block competition and continue raising their prices without challenge.
With CON laws repealed, providers can better care for Florida patients without needing to jump through burdensome and crony regulatory hoops.
Send Gov. DeSantis a message, thanking him for repealing CON laws and encouraging him to continue to break health care barriers in the Sunshine State!
