Texas has officially enacted property tax reform. Gov. Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 2 into law, making the property tax process more transparent and giving citizens more say on proposed tax hikes.
The new law requires that information about taxation, appraisals and how to protest appraisals be posted in an online database.
Property tax reform will help preserve local governments’ ability to fund essential services and allow taxpayers to choose how much additional government they want and are willing to pay for.
Send lawmakers who supported SB 2 a thank you note and encourage them to continue championing policies that help Texans improve their lives!
