For too long, West Virginia has seen more people leave our state than move here for decades. And we’re one of the few states in the country to have lost population since the 1950s.
This trend is unsustainable from both the standpoint of state finances and economic opportunity. Without making West Virginia a more attractive place to live, work, and raise a family, we will continue to see reductions in our population and a lack of economic opportunity that will continue to hold West Virginians back from reaching their full potential.
West Virginia has the opportunity to enact comprehensive tax reforms that will address many of the shortcomings that keep many of our state’s individuals, families, and businesses from thriving.
Americans for Prosperity-WV supports eliminating the state’s personal income tax. Doing so would provide individuals with a financial incentive to call the Mountain State home. It also would increase economic growth, diversify our economy and shore up West Virginia’s long-term finances.
Urge your lawmakers to support eliminating West Virginia’s state income tax!
