Contact Officials Letter
For years, lawmakers in North Carolina’s state government has taken from taxpayers to give to special interests.
Since taking office in January of 2017, Gov. Cooper and his band of Merry Men have committed taxpayers to more than $167 million in sweetheart incentive deals to pad the pockets of special interests.
It’s not just a one-time thing, either. Politicians in North Carolina have a habit of tempting rich corporations like Amazon and foreign banks with handouts funded by taxpayers.
Send an email today to tell lawmakers that their reverse Robin Hood, corporate welfare projects in North Carolina must end.
I am writing today to ask that you stop supporting corporate welfare projects, such as special incentives for large corporations or direct payments to Hollywood studios.
It’s time to put an end to this Reverse Robin Hood corporate welfare scheme and let North Carolina families keep more of their hard-earned money. It’s time to keep your campaign promise to stop corporate tax giveaways.
State “economic development” programs like the One North Carolina Fund and the Jobs Development Investment Grant program are often used as a façade to pad the pockets of special interests and North Carolinian families can’t afford it.
Over $167 million of our hard-earned tax money has been committed to big business since the start of your administration.
That money could have been spent on better things like my child’s education, equipment for the State Highway Patrol, or tax cuts so that I can afford a new car or a house payment.
Thank you for your time. I urge you to stop signing sweetheart corporate welfare deals on the backs of taxpayers like me.
