Taxpayers shouldn't pay for stadiums
Local governments in Virginia have a bad habit of collecting hard-earned taxpayer money to build stadiums and other infrastructure for sports teams.
Stadium subsidies are a growing national trend. Problem is, this corporate welfare rarely delivers what it promises to taxpayers.
New Jersey and Connecticut spent tens of millions of taxpayer dollars on sports stadiums to stimulate their economies. Today, those expensive stadiums are virtually empty parking lots.
It’s time to stop experimenting with taxpayers’ wallets, and let sports teams win on their own dime.
Sign the letter to lawmakers today urging them to support legislations that ends stadium subsidies in Virginia!
