You're invited to join us at the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Mill as we spend the day learning about Criminal Justice Reform!
We'll kick-off the day with a Criminal Justice Reform Overview, break for lunch (provided by us!), and will reconvene that afternoon to take a deep dive into Mandatory Minimums as well as to discuss how you can further get involved with us on this very important issue!
Individual session descriptions are below!
Criminal Justice Reform Overview:
This session will focus on our shared goals of protecting our communities and future crime victims by incorporating evidence-based policy to achieve justice for victims, keep our country and community safe, and empower all persons to achieve their potential.
What are the unintended consequences of mandatory minimums? This session will examine the history of mandatory minimums, review the impact of mandatory minimums sentencing on a free society and evaluate how criminal sentencing policy can ensure a safer community.
Doors will open at 9:30, and the first session will begin promptly at 10am.
Feel free to contact our Midlands Area Grassroots Engagement Director, Sarah Grace McKenrick, via email ([email protected]) with any event related questions.
We hope you'll join us for this unique opportunity to learn more about the criminal justice system!
