Sign the petition: Give parents the freedom to choose what’s best for their kids
In March, Gov. Terry McAuliffe vetoed a bill that would have given parents freedom to save up for their children’s education. HB 1605 would have established education savings accounts (ESAs) for Virginia parents, allowing them to place a portion of the funds for their child’s education into a savings account to pay for any qualified educational expenses instead of automatically going to the district public school they are zoned to.
Instead, Gov. McAuliffe voted to prioritize special interests over education.
It’s time to stand up against big government bullies. Sign the petition to encourage the General Assembly to bring this legislation back next year!
We hope Virginia’s next governor values children and their education enough to give parents the right to choose.
