On April 2, vote no on issue #1
Some would have you believe that Colorado Springs firefighters are in desperate need of increased collective bargaining power.
That claim is misleading.
Colorado Springs treats its firefighters fairly and with respect -- firefighter salaries have increased 16 percent, to nearly $80,000, in the last four years.
But Issue #1 on the Colorado Springs ballot would create a rigid, one-size-fits-all system that puts a middleman between taxpayers and firefighters. Tax dollars would no longer go directly toward salaries and equipment, and firefighters’ best interests may not be protected.
We need to protect those who protect us. Sign your name and vote no on Issue #1 on April 2!
