Block the $3.3 million sales tax hike on Nov. 5.
Manhattan lawmakers have already been talking about a property tax hike — and now they want to hike the sales tax. But on Nov. 5, residents have the chance to stop that tax in its tracks.
On the ballot will be a proposal for a $3.3 million sales tax increase with no guarantee about how that revenue will be spent.
If the sales tax increase passes, Manhattan’s rate would rise to one of the highest in the state. People will be paying more for everything they buy every day because the tax increase has no expiration date. But you can help keep that from happening.
